coca-cola beat earnings estimates tuesday, reporting adjusted eps of 86 cents vs 81 cents expected. revenue came in at $12.47 billion, above the $12.24 billion consensus. the company raised its full-year outlook, now projecting comparable eps growth of 8% to 9%, up from the prior 7% to 8%.
shares rose more than 2% in premarket trading. net income hit $3.92 billion, up from $3.33 billion a year ago. organic revenue grew 10% in the quarter, and global unit case volume rose 3%. north america volume increased 4%.
coke zero sugar led the sparkling drinks division with 13% volume growth. the water, sports, coffee and tea segment saw the strongest global growth at 5%. the juice and dairy segment was the laggard, with volume down 1% — growth in fairlife and santa clara couldn't offset the sale of nigerian operations last year.
