Epstein files: DOJ watchdog reviewing release of documents on sex offender

the doj's internal watchdog is now reviewing how documents on jeffrey epstein get released. congress passed the epstein files law back in november, after then-attorney general pam bondi backed out of a promise to release the doj's full investigatory file. the watchdog review covers the department's handling of the release process itself. bondi had publicly pledged to make the file public, but the doj never followed through, which pushed lawmakers to codify the requirement into law.
