adidas made history this weekend: the first competitive marathon runner broke the 2-hour barrier, and he did it in adidas sneakers. but if you want to buy the same pair, you're out of luck — they're not available for order. the runner, whose name wasn't released in the blurb, finished the race in under 2 hours, a milestone in competitive distance running. adidas designed the shoes specifically for the attempt, but the company hasn't made them available to the public. no word on if or when that might change. so the brand gets the marketing win, but runners who want to replicate the feat are stuck waiting.
